It’s been really hard to get studio time the last few weeks but I got a full session in yesterday. Still working on surface quality of the painting handling for the portrait as well as focusing on the drawing angles. Feeling pretty good about this one, I need to get into the background and shirt eventually but I really want a strong portrait of Julie.
Had a strong pass on the major mass forms of the head, I need to go back in an fix the viewer-right eye – it got a little wider in expression when I fixed the axis of the eyeline and the lips need to be painted with another mass pass. After that I should be able to move into the rest of the painting and start to work towards finishing it all off.
