Worked on three different portraits this past weekend.
First up is a portrait of Julie that I’ve started in on. Most of the face is blocked in with the first pass now. Long way to go still, but making solid progress.

Next up is the portrait of Dr. Hinkie. I have a couple more sessions in on this one and have the violin as well as one of the arms blocked in now. Really, really happy with the progress on this one. For this phase of the process this is still looking really good to me. I’m excited to see just how far I can push this one. Need to resolve the background shapes as well still, that’s probably the biggest outstanding composition issue. The rest is just pushing the paint as far as I can.

Lastly we have the portrait of Theo. May be a bit difficult to see from this image what all has changed from the last time I posted this, but I have a second pass in on the face as well as the bow-side hand and arm. I feel like some of the oddness in the drawing of the face has been resolved now and should be set up for finishing passes now for the face. Just need to keep working and pushing the image on this one as well.

More to come.
