I have followed Vincent Desiderio's work in magazines for a few years, and I saw his Sept 2011 exhibition at Marlboro Gallery Chelsea yesterday. His work stands out as different from many other paintings. It is really strong, and his viewpoint is unusual, and varied. I found him hard to "pin down," and I mean that in a good way. Your writing has helped me better understand some of what is behind the really strong paintings I saw yesterday. Thank you. Thanks for taking the time to write this. You know what recently started working for us? We put him in the bath with one of his sisters, and gave him 2 Crayola bath fizzies (changes the water's color) and some bath crayons. The first time he looked at us like, "Oh is this art-time? I had no idea!" It now works...well, at least 75% of the time with no panic. Which is...a lot. :) Oh gosh, Caddy is so similar!! I know that Nolan has this diagnosis, but I also know that God has another plan for Nolan. He is perfectly made, healthy, strong and adorable. He has a sweet disposition like you and he has the strength of his father. I love my grandson so much and I had the best time of my life during my recent visit just being around him. I do pray that God would help you both adjust to all that is needed for Nolan's education, whatever that means. Be open to what God has for you at this time of your life. God cares for you.
