You can just see Freyja in the bottom right part of the picture; she was keeping Nolan highly entertained with kisses and tail-chasing.

Yes, it’s called saliva.
He sucks on his fingers and then grabs at his head. The red may just be a camera trick… I can’t see it in real life, and his eyes aren’t quite the right color in the photos either.
