They say babies grow in their sleep… well, Nolan must be very busy growing! He’s four weeks old now, and starting to sleep for slightly longer stretches between feedings too, at least part of the time. He seems to prefer his swing to the bassinet though.

Then there are days like today, when he only wants to sleep like this:

Here are a few more photos of Nolan from week 2… in a few hours, he’ll be three weeks old already! At the beginning of the week, he weighed 7 lb 13.5 oz, so if he’s continuing on the same trend, he should be over 8 lbs by now. At the very least, he is starting to outgrow the legs of his newborn-sized outfits. We’ve switched from newborn disposables to our bumGenius cloth diapers, and they are working great so far.

Sometimes he opens his eyes so wide you can see the whites all around the edges…

Still practicing smiles in his sleep…

Freyja is doing very well getting to know Nolan. She barked her head off every time he made a sound for the first few days, but she’s adjusted very well and is always trying to give him kisses now. She’s also shown some interest in being a lap dog all of a sudden, probably just to get more attention.
There have been more than a few occasions when I’m holding Nolan on the couch and she will come sit next to us and lay her head in my lap. Such a sweet puppy!
