So we had all these problems with cancelled and delayed flights because of the freezing rain this weekend, and Jeremy barely made his connection in Seattle yesterday because of it. I understand it is about 13°F in NYC right now.
Today in Salem (and PDX too, for that matter), it is an incredible 64°F outside! That’s warmer than the temperature inside our house. People are walking around in amazement carrying their winter coats. A few days of this and the flowers will start blooming again.
I just don’t get it.

I’m sorry to hear the bad luck. It’s been definitely much much too cold here. People have died from the cold, there is fear of frost bite when you go out on any exposed skin and today it is snowing lightly which adds to iciness on the roads. Thank goodness we don’t drive around here! The forecast promises more of the fun weather through the weekend, with a sligh rise in temperature to the mid-30′s. Fun stuff, but glad to hear that Jeremy made it back safely and hopefully the start of the semester will be smoother from now on! Jeremy, give me a call when you get a chance.
